Recent research about the Handcraft Company brought me back to this video, which I had seen on Facebook a couple of years ago. The Princeton story begins about the 5:27 mark. The opening scene shows Mrs. Preston (Marjorie) Hiestand, daughter-in-law of Handcraft founders Ernie and Martha Hiestand, and her daughters, Nancy and Susan. I believe the segment aired in 1955.
“Handcraft and the Hiestands” will be an important chapter in Vol. II of “Bartel’s History of Princeton,” which I expect to publish in 2025.
